Join the California Preservation Foundation for Part II of a multi-program themed series on Preservation Technology.

This comprehensive seminar covers key updates and strategies in building codes, structural fire engineering, and resiliency tools, tailored for historic preservation and existing buildings. This seminar is designed to equip professionals with essential knowledge and practical tools to enhance preservation efforts and ensure building safety in the face of evolving codes and challenges.

Code Updates: The program will start with an overview of the latest structural code updates, focusing on changes to ACI codes and ASCE 41. This segment will explore how these updates impact preservation practices. Next, we'll review recent developments in fire life safety codes and discuss their implications for historic structures. 

Structural Fire Engineering: The program will introduce structural fire engineering principles, highlighting their relevance to preservation and existing buildings. 

Resiliency Tools: The program will examine performance-based tools for earthquake and fire engineering, including a detailed case study. The session will also cover various ordinances across California.

Learning Objectives
This program is eligible for AIA and APA continuing education units (CEUs). Anyone requesting CEUs must attend the live program.
