Historic Districts: SOI Standards, Infill, Additio

This intensive, one-day workshop will delve into the issues of historic districts: their identification, contributors vs. non-contributors, designation process, design guidelines for infill construction, and new additions as they relate to the Secretary of Interior Standards for Rehabilitation.  Particular attention will be paid to contextual infill, cultural landscapes, and change in use.  Treatment for Accessory Dwelling Units related to new State transportation and affordable housing requirements of SB 1069 are also addressed.  Case studies from the region will allow attendees to examine the Secretary’s Standards relationship with materials, setting, and integrity.
